Senior Manager - Legal

Experience : 8- 12 years

Location : Pune

- We are seeking an experienced Legal professional to coordinate and execute all legal aspects pertaining to the business.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and providing expert legal advice to senior management and stakeholders. This will be an individual contributor role with lot of coordination with external legal firms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contract Management: Review, negotiate, and draft contracts with customers, vendors, and partners, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations

2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, including transportation laws, labour laws, and data protection laws

3. Litigation Management: Manage all litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel, representing the company in court, and advising on settlement strategies

4. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, developing and implementing strategies to minimize exposure to legal liabilities

5. Compliance Program: Develop, implement, and maintain a compliance program, including training, monitoring, and reporting

6. Data Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations, including GDPR and Indian data protection laws

7. Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company's intellectual property, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents

8. Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions

9. Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, government agencies, and industry associations

Requirements:

1. Education: Master's or Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized institution

2. Experience: Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a legal role

3. Industry Experience: Preferably, experience in the service industry, in bus and car service mobility, city buses, or transportation sector. Experience with a blue-collar workforce will be an advantage

4. Skills: Excellent legal research, drafting, and negotiation skills; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and interpersonal skills

5. Certifications: Membership in a bar council or equivalent certification

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Transportation Law Experience: Experience in transportation law, including regulations related to city buses and cars.

2. Indian Law Experience: Experience with Indian laws and regulations, including transportation laws, labour laws, and data protection laws.

3. Language Skills: Fluency in English and local languages (e.g. Hindi, Marathi)
