Role overview: We are looking to hire a seasoned Senior Associate who will independently leading complex matters, mentoring junior team members and driving key client relationships. This role is critical to shaping legal strategy, high-stakes drafting and negotiations on marquee transactions.

Key responsibilities:

- Matter and transaction management: Lead end-to-end execution of complex transactions and matters, including M&A, general corporate advisory and banking & finance deals, from structuring through closing.

- Drafting and negotiation: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating the transaction documents, ensuring commercially sound and legally robust outcomes.

- Client and stakeholder management: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic legal advice with consultation of the partner, managing expectations and building long-term relationships.

- Due diligence and risk assessment: Lead and coordinate legal due diligence exercises, identify key legal and commercial risks and articulate mitigation strategies clearly to clients and partners.

- Team leadership and mentoring: Supervise junior associates, allocate work, review drafts and provide structured feedback and on-the-job training.

- Regulatory and compliance advisory: Advise on applicable regulatory frameworks and ensure matters are executed in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Required qualifications and skills:

- Education: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent from a reputed institution, with strong academic credentials, a qualification as a company secretary and/or a diploma in business law will be an added advantage.

- Experience: Around 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) with a reputable law firm, with demonstrable exposure to General Corporate, M&A and/or Banking and Finance work.

Technical skills:

- Strong expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, legal research and due diligence.

- Understanding of company's law, contract law, securities and/or banking regulations (as relevant to your practice focus).

- Soft skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong client-handling skills, ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.

- Work style: High ownership, maturity, and ability to operate with limited supervision on complex transactions and matters.
