The Principal Legal Counsel will serve as a senior legal advisor with primary responsibility for drafting, reviewing, structuring, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements. This role requires strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and the ability to lead high-stakes negotiations while safeguarding the company's legal and commercial interests.
15+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience. Experience in [industry, e.g., Technology, Fintech, Energy, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Investment Banks].
- Lead drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements,
- Provide strategic legal advice to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Extensive experience negotiating high-value, cross-border commercial agreements
- Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, regulatory, and operational risks.
- Support M&A transactions with contract due diligence and integration activities.
- Provide guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Support strategic initiatives including M&A, partnerships, and expansion projects.
- Develop and implement legal policies, frameworks, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, corporate law, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to lead complex negotiations independently.
- Familiarity with international contracting frameworks.
- Exposure to data protection and privacy regulations.
