Job Responsibilities:
Strategy Translation & Project Prioritization:
- Convert 2-3 year M&E strategy into actionable 1-2 year project roadmaps.
- Identify and recommend expansion, optimization, and automation opportunities.
- Drive implementation of new projects aligned with business growth and NPD requirements.
Engineering Design & Standardization:
- Develop standardized plant layouts, equipment specifications, design norms, and engineering guidelines across units.
- Ensure consistency and reduction in duplication/rework through harmonized solutions.
- Lead greenfield and brownfield system design initiatives, including new production and packaging lines and utilities.
Project Planning & Execution Excellence:
- Prepare detailed project plans covering scope, cost, resources, timelines, and milestones.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budgets, and quality parameters.
- Apply structured project management tools and methodologies to enhance planning accuracy and execution discipline.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless project delivery.
Financial & Performance Impact:
- Develop business cases supported by data analysis (energy, throughput, wastage, productivity).
- Drive measurable benefits including cost savings, energy optimization, waste reduction, and quality improvement.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and capital expenditure estimates.
Procurement & Vendor Governance:
- Define technical specifications for equipment, materials, and services.
- Conduct technical evaluations and recommend vendor selection aligned with business needs.
- Lead FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) for new and refurbished equipment (India & overseas).
- Develop and strengthen vendor ecosystem to support standardization and efficiency.
Technical Support & Asset Optimization:
- Provide troubleshooting and engineering support to BAMSCA factories and other OCs.
- Evaluate idle assets for redeployment across units.
- Oversee commissioning, trials, automation improvements, and refurbishment of legacy equipment.
- Ensure project outcomes meet defined performance and operational benchmarks.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure compliance with mechanical, electrical, civil, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Define and monitor key project performance metrics to track effectiveness and outcomes.
Team Leadership & Capability Development:
- Mentor and coach project managers and engineering teams.
- Build strong technical and project management capabilities within the function.
- Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and waste elimination.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong experience in Greenfield & Brownfield manufacturing projects
- Proficiency in MS Project and AutoCAD/design tools
- Sound knowledge of manufacturing processes and plant engineering systems
- SAP working knowledge
- Deep process expertise in Gum, Chewy Candy, Hard Boiled Candy, Jellies, Extruded Jelly & Filli Folly
