Role Overview:

The Territory Sales Manager (TSM) will be responsible for overseeing sales operations, business development, and team management within the assigned territory of Chhatarpur. The TSM will lead a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs), ensure effective implementation of sales strategies, develop local partnerships, and contribute to the company's growth by increasing farmer adoption of nurture.farm solutions. This role requires strong leadership, customer engagement, and a deep understanding of rural and agri-based markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales and Business Development:

- Drive achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets for the territory.

- Develop and execute sales plans and strategies to increase product and service adoption by farmers.

- Conduct regular market visits to monitor field performance, identify opportunities, and resolve challenges.

- Expand the customer base by identifying and onboarding new farmers, retailers, and agri-input partners.

- Monitor competitor activities and provide strategic feedback to central teams.

Team Management:

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs).

- Allocate targets and territories among BDOs and monitor their performance regularly.

- Conduct regular team meetings, reviews, and field training to ensure consistent performance and motivation.

- Assist the recruitment and onboarding process of new BDOs as required.

Farmer Engagement and Customer Service:


- Act as the primary point of contact for farmers and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

- Organize and supervise field demonstrations, farmer meetings, and training programs to educate about product features and benefits.

- Resolve farmer issues and escalate critical challenges to higher management when necessary.

Reporting and Coordination:

- Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market insights.

- Submit weekly/monthly sales reports and MIS as per company guidelines.

- Coordinate with central teams including supply chain, marketing, and product to align ground-level implementation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Masters' degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Rural Management, or a related field.

- 4-8 years of sales experience, with at least 2 years in a team management role, preferably in agri-inputs, FMCG, or rural markets.

- Strong understanding of rural/agricultural sales dynamics and customer behavior.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

- Proven ability to lead a field team and meet sales targets independently.

- Basic proficiency in data reporting tools such as MS Excel or sales CRMs.

- Prior experience in agri-tech or sustainability-driven products is an advantage.

- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory and work in rural field conditions.
