We are hiring a senior legal leader for a well-known and respected pharma group, to head the legal function and act as a strategic advisor to the Board and senior leadership.

This role is suited for accomplished legal professionals currently operating at Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, Legal Head, or VP / Sr. VP Legal, with deep exposure to regulated environments along with Litigation management.

Role Mandate:

- Own and drive the overall legal strategy aligned with business objectives

- Act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior leadership

- Lead all legal, regulatory, compliance, governance, and risk management functions. Build a strong, future-ready in-house legal team

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Strategy & Leadership:

- Provide strategic legal advice on governance, compliance, risk, and business decisions

- Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks across operations

Regulatory & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards

- Oversee policies related to data protection, employment law, anti-bribery, and ethics

Contracts & Commercial Law:

- Oversee drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial, IP, employment, and vendor contracts

- Strengthen contract governance and risk controls

Litigation & Dispute Management:

- Lead litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters

- Manage external counsels and resolution strategies with cost and reputation control

Corporate Governance & M&A:

- Advise on Board matters, shareholder relations, and governance frameworks

- Lead legal due diligence and structuring for M&A, JVs, and strategic transactions

Team & Stakeholder Management:

- Lead, mentor, and scale the in-house legal team

- Manage external law firms, regulators, and industry bodies

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- 20+ years of legal experience with 5+ years in senior legal leadership

- Strong exposure to Pharma / FMCG regulatory environments

- Expertise across corporate law, commercial contracts, litigation, compliance, M&A, and IP

- Proven experience working closely with Boards, CXOs, and regulators

- Strategic, business-oriented mindset with high ethical standards
