We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Counsel to join our client to set up Infrastructure & Energy practice in Delhi. The ideal candidate will have 7-9 years of strong experience in advising on infrastructure projects, particularly in energy (renewables, thermal, transmission), roads, transport, and urban infrastructure sectors, with a leading law firm.

You will play a key role in advising clients across the project lifecycle-from bid stage and project development to financial close, implementation, and exit.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating project-related documentation including:

- Concession Agreements

- Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)

- EPC and O&M Contracts

- Financing and Security Documents

- Shareholders' and Joint Venture Agreements

- Advising sponsors, developers, lenders (including DFIs), and government authorities on infrastructure and energy projects (domestic and cross-border).

- Assisting in due diligence and risk assessment of projects and transactions.

- Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including regulatory, tax, and corporate advisory.

- Keeping abreast of regulatory and policy developments in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

- Mentoring junior team members and contributing to knowledge development.

Key Requirements:

- LL.B. or equivalent from a reputed Indian or international university.

- 6-9 years of post-qualification experience with a reputed law firm in the Projects / Infrastructure / Energy practice.

- Strong transactional and advisory experience in infrastructure and energy projects.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills.

- Strong understanding of government contracting, PPP frameworks, and sector-specific regulations (e.g., electricity laws, bidding guidelines, model concession frameworks, etc.).

- Ability to manage transactions independently and work under tight deadlines.
