Head - Legal - Retail/FMCG

We are looking for an experienced Legal Head to lead the legal and compliance function for a fast-growing retail organization.

This role requires a strategic legal professional who can partner with business leaders, manage risk, and ensure strong governance across all operations.

The ideal candidate will bring a balance of legal expertise and business acumen to support growth while maintaining regulatory and contractual integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

- The candidate will be responsible for driving the overall legal strategy of the organization, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards.

- They will oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, agreements, and legal documentation across business functions, ensuring that risks are identified and mitigated effectively.

- The role involves managing all aspects of legal compliance, including regulatory requirements, internal policies, and audit readiness.

- The candidate will handle real estate and leasing matters, including negotiation of lease agreements, renewals, property-related legal documentation, and relocation support for retail stores and offices.

- They will work closely with leadership teams to provide legal advisory on strategic decisions, new business initiatives, partnerships, and expansion plans.

- The role also includes managing disputes, coordinating with external legal counsel when required, and ensuring timely resolution of legal issues.

- The candidate will be expected to build and streamline legal processes, implement best practices, and create a strong compliance framework that supports business scalability.

Required Skills:

- The candidate must have strong expertise in contract management, legal compliance, and risk mitigation.

- They should have hands-on experience in handling real estate and lease agreements, particularly in retail or FMCG environments.
