
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage pending legal and regulatory litigation involving gas, liquid, and renewable energy assets.
- Represent and coordinate matters before various courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities.
- Handle electricity and power-sector matters before APTEL, CERC, and other relevant regulatory forums.
- Manage regulatory and commercial litigation related to the power and energy sector.
- Develop litigation strategies and coordinate with external counsel, advocates, and legal advisors.
- Review and advise on legal and regulatory issues affecting power-sector projects and assets.
- Support M&A transactions, including legal due diligence and identification of regulatory and contractual risks.
- Review and advise on Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), O&M contracts, financing agreements, EPC contracts, and other commercial arrangements.
- Review land-related documents and advise on legal issues associated with project development and operations.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research and provide actionable advice to internal stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their potential impact on business operations and projects.
Required Candidate Profile:
- Strong experience in regulatory and commercial litigation within the power/energy sector.
- Proven experience handling electricity-related matters before APTEL, CERC, courts, and other regulatory forums.
- Experience managing complex litigation and regulatory proceedings independently.
- Exposure to M&A transactions and legal due diligence.
- Strong experience reviewing and negotiating commercial and project-related contracts.
- Hands-on exposure to PPAs, O&M Contracts, Financing Agreements, EPC Contracts, and land-related documentation.
- Strong understanding of power-sector laws, regulations, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, litigation-management, and stakeholder-management skills.
