
Job Description:
We are looking for a seasoned Legal professional to lead our Legal Department. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong legal acumen, capable of independently managing all legal and compliance matters. We seek a proactive leader who can provide sound legal counsel, mitigate risks, and ensure regulatory compliance while effectively partnering with internal stakeholders and external authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for drafting and negotiating diverse legal documents and commercial contracts, ranging from standard templates to complex customized agreements such as distribution, vendor, consultancy, confidentiality and sale/purchase contracts.
- Preparing Agreement MIS reports at regular intervals and tracking contract renewals and other key triggers within contractual relationships.
- Providing timely responses to contract drafts to facilitate early closures.
- Conducting legal research to identify relevant judgments for better interpretation and understanding of contractual provisions.
- Drafting appropriate legal communications and notices in line with business needs.
- Liaising with external counsel and law firms, effectively communicating the companys legal requirements, and ensuring timely and relevant responses to support organizational goals.
- Offering legal support to business stakeholders across all divisions of the company.
- Possessing in-depth knowledge of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) laws.
- Assisting HR departments with employment law-related matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in law from a recognized university.
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of experience leading the Legal and Compliance function, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
Skills / Attributes / Knowledge:
- Experience in corporate law, contract law, IPR, compliance regulations, and litigation management.
- Skilled in influencing and managing relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory bodies, external counsel, and government authorities.
- Ability to align legal strategies with business goals, foresee potential risks, and provide strategic legal advice to protect organizational interests.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to negotiate contracts, settlements, and legal agreements effectively.
- Skilled in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), Trademark, and Infringement laws will be given preference.
