Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned CFO / Head Finance & Accounts to lead and manage the finance, accounting, and business operations support for a growing plastic bottles manufacturing company based in Uganda.

The role requires a strategic yet hands-on finance leader who can oversee end-to-end financial management, ensure strong internal controls, support business growth, and work closely with the leadership team on operational and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Accounting Leadership

- Lead the entire finance and accounts function, including accounting, costing, budgeting, taxation, compliance, and reporting.

- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Establish and strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and governance frameworks.

- Oversee ERP-driven accounting systems and ensure data integrity.

Business & Operations Finance

- Partner with operations, procurement, production, and sales teams to support business planning and cost optimization.

- Monitor product costing, margins, working capital, and cash flows.

- Support pricing decisions, capex planning, and investment analysis.

- Drive profitability improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

Compliance & Audit:

- Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in Uganda.

- Coordinate internal and external audits; liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.

- Manage tax planning, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.

Strategic & Leadership Role

- Act as a key member of the leadership team, advising on business strategy, risk management, and financial planning.

- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounts team.

- Support expansion plans, capacity enhancement, and process improvements.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:

- CA / CMA Qualified or Semi-Qualified (mandatory).

Experience:

- Minimum 15+ years of overall experience in finance and accounts.

- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role as Head of Finance / Finance Manager / CFO.

- Strong experience in plastic manufacturing preferred; other manufacturing industries may be considered.

Skills & Competencies:

- Strong expertise in manufacturing finance, costing, budgeting, and cash flow management.

- Hands-on experience with ERP systems.

- Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work in an overseas, multicultural business environment.

- Strong communication skills; English fluency required.
