As an Employment Law Specialist in India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization complies with all relevant labor and employment laws and regulations. You will provide legal counsel, guidance, and support on a wide range of employment-related matters, including but not limited to employment contracts, labor disputes, workplace policies, and compliance issues. Key Responsibilities: - Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the organization on employment law matters in India. - Stay updated on changes in labor and employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance. - Draft and review employment contracts, offer letters, and other employment-related documents. - Ensure that employment agreements comply with all applicable laws and regulations. - Develop, review, and update company policies related to employment, discrimination, harassment, and workplace conduct. - Ensure policies align with current legal requirements. - Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws, including minimum wage, working hours, and benefits. - Address any compliance issues and work with HR to implement necessary changes. - Handle and resolve employment-related disputes, including disciplinary actions, terminations, and grievances. - Represent the company in labor disputes and legal proceedings, if necessary. - Conduct training sessions for HR and management on employment law matters to increase awareness and compliance. - Lead or assist in investigations related to workplace misconduct, discrimination, or harassment. - Ensure all investigations are conducted in accordance with legal requirements. - Maintain accurate and organized records of employment-related legal matters. - Prepare and maintain documentation for legal cases and audits. Qualifications: - A degree in law (LLB) from a recognized law school. - Admission to the Indian Bar Council and a valid license to practice law in India. - Minimum 8 years of experience in employment law, preferably with experience in a corporate or law firm setting. - In-depth knowledge of Indian labor laws and regulations. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Proficiency in legal research and documentation.
