Area Sales Manager (Channel/Retail Sales)

Role Overview

- The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is a key field leadership position requiring a experience of 3+ years, with a strong focus on driving sales through the Channel sales / retail sales network.

- This role involves direct management of the sales ecosystem, including distributors and detailers/dealers, within a defined area.

- The incumbent will be primarily responsible for meeting aggressive sales goals, managing channel relationships, and executing market strategy to maximize brand presence and volume.

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-oriented Area Sales Manager with 3+ years of experience in channel and retail sales. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for managing and growing the distributor and dealer network within their assigned territory. Key responsibilities include achieving challenging monthly/annual sales targets, expanding market reach, and ensuring channel partners are motivated and equipped to drive sales volume effectively.

Key Responsibilities and Sales Management Deliverables

- Channel & Retail Sales Management: Directly manage and execute sales strategy across the Channel sales / retail sales ecosystem within the designated geographical area of responsibility.

- Network Management Metrics: Be directly accountable for the efficient performance and relationship management of the assigned distribution network. Specifically, detail the number of Detailer & distributor handling to showcase team size/territory complexity.

- Target Achievement: Drive sales performance to meet or exceed targets. Specify and track the Monthly sales target or annual sales target for the assigned area and ensure proactive measures are taken to maintain a high achievement rate.

- Territory Coverage: Strategically manage the designated sales territory, defining Which area he/she is the candidate handling (e.g., specific cities, districts, or zones) to ensure comprehensive market penetration.

- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Generate accurate sales forecasts, analyze market trends, and provide regular performance reports to senior management.

- Training and Motivation: Conduct product training and sales strategy sessions for distributors and detailers to keep them updated and motivated.

- Inventory and Claim Management: Monitor channel inventory levels to prevent - stockouts/overstocking and ensure timely processing of claims and schemes.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: Total experience of 3+ years in Sales.

- Domain: Mandatory experience working in Channel sales / retail sales (B2B/B2C).

- Metrics: Proven ability to manage and report on key sales metrics, including Monthly sales target or annual sales target.

- Management: Experience in directly handling and managing a network of Detailer & distributor.

- Communication: Strong negotiation, relationship management, and communication skills.
