Job Summary: The SVP - Central Credit will lead the Central Credit unit, overseeing the underwriting operations primarily for salaried profiles processed centrally. This role is responsible for managing the Head Office credit team and the process quality team, ensuring efficient credit monitoring, bureau reporting, vendor management, credit LOS development, credit controllership activities, co-lending, and other critical credit functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mortgage credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring at the zonal level or higher. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the Central Credit unit focusing on centralized underwriting for salaried profiles. - Oversee the Head Office credit team and process quality team, including Credit Monitoring, bureau reporting, vendor management, credit LOS development, credit controllership, and co-lending activities. - Ensure adherence to credit policies, regulatory compliance, and quality standards in underwriting and credit processes. - Drive continuous improvement in credit operations, underwriting turnaround times, and process efficiencies. - Collaborate with stakeholders across functions to enhance credit decision-making frameworks and risk mitigation strategies. - Develop and implement credit LOS (Loan Origination System) and other technological solutions to streamline credit processes. - Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and compliance in outsourced credit activities. - Monitor portfolio performance, identify risk trends, and implement corrective measures to safeguard asset quality. - Support co-lending initiatives and credit partnerships in line with business objectives. - Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing credit team aligned with organizational goals. Qualifications & Experience: - Minimum 15+ years of experience in mortgage credit underwriting, preferably at zonal or national level. - Strong understanding of housing loan and SME loan credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and risk management. - Proven leadership experience managing large teams and complex credit operations. - In-depth knowledge of credit policies, regulatory environment, and best practices in mortgage lending. - Experience in credit process improvements, technology implementation, and vendor management. - Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
