About Zopper

Zopper is a series D-funded startup in the InsurTech space. We enable large B2C businesses to offer insurance to their customers. We do this by fusing insurance and technology seamlessly to provide end-to-end solutions to our Business partners. Based on the need of Business partners, we create the Product i.e. customized insurance plans by partnering with Insurance companies. We then integrate these customized Insurance plans with the tech systems of the Business partners by creating customized APIs on our SAAS platform.

Role Review:

We are seeking a professional in Legal to oversee and manage the companys legal affairs, with a strong focus on contract management, compliance, and advisory support. The role involves providing legal guidance to business teams, ensuring adherence to applicable laws, and mitigating legal risks through effective documentation and negotiation.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, and service-level agreements.

- Provide legal advisory support to internal stakeholders on business transactions, policies, and operational matters.

- Ensure legal compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

- Manage litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings in coordination with external counsels.

- Develop and implement contract management processes and maintain a centralized legal documentation system.

- Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders as needed.

- Keep abreast of changes in laws and regulations impacting the business.

- Support corporate governance activities, including board and shareholder matters, if applicable.

Prerequisites

- Degree in LLB/ LLM.

- 10+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal function.

- Strong expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance management.

- Sound understanding of corporate, commercial, and employment laws.

- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
