The role holder will act as a strategic partner to digital teams supporting development and protection of digital assets through strong digital contracts and IP protection. The role will oversee every legal aspect of the digital business verticals and ensure that the business verticals are always in compliance with business processes, laws and regulatory requirements. - Lead development of legal strategy roadmap for various digital business verticals of the organization (Zee5, Publishing, Z5X, Sugarbox) - Partner with digital team to support development of technology/digital infrastructure assets ensuring that technology/IP is retained by the company - Lead structuring and negotiation of agreements for data licenses, enterprise software, digital content agreements, Adtech, intellectual property protection and license agreements - Drive online enforcement initiatives and negotiating and drafting vendor and technology agreements as well as antipiracy requirements in distribution agreements - Drive legal strategy for Zee5 across all requirements for content creation, acquisition, syndication, production, distribution, ad-sales, technology and litigation - Lead structuring, negotiation, drafting and closing agreements including addressing various legal, IP, ownership, business, commercial, technology and taxation issues - Understand the changing digital regulatory landscape and advise the leaders on the digital business strategy of the company by shaping the digital regulatory policy and practices - Conduct research on changing regulatory and legislative environment, technology trends, legal precedents and past earnings to ensure agreement documents are comprehensive and capture all business requirements - Maintain relationships with key agencies, attorneys, regulatory agencies, licensees in the entertainment community - Liaison with litigation team to ensure effective litigation management including copyrights issues of all content function - Maintain relationships with key stakeholders in various regulatory bodies such as TRAI, MIB, IBF and other government bodies across markets - Act as partner to sales and audit teams by providing legal support to reduce under-reporting and unearth subscribers through timely and effective interventions in TDSAT, MIB, TRAI liaison with various business teams to develop effective anti-piracy measures Essential : Bachelors- degree or Master's degree in law Preferable : Prior experience and knowledge of media &amp; entertainment industry
