Key Responsibilities:
- Scrutinize and vet property documents to ensure the legality and authenticity of all transactions.
- Provide legal advice and opinions on branch-level transactions to support business teams.
- Ensure compliance with housing finance regulations, property laws, and internal legal policies.
- Liaise with external panel advocates for legal reports, clarifications, and query resolutions.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and finalizing loan agreements, mortgage documents, and other legal contracts.
- Track and manage Post-Disbursement Documents (PDDs) to maintain legal compliance.
- Support the branch in resolving legal queries or disputes, ensuring minimal risk exposure.
- Conduct training sessions for branch staff to improve awareness of legal and compliance requirements.
- Uphold integrity and confidentiality in all legal dealings and documentation.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of property laws, housing finance regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency in legal document scrutiny, drafting, and contract management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Familiarity with legal software tools and document management systems is an advantage.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to professional integrity.
Education:
- LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) from a recognized university.
- LL.M (Master of Laws) is an added advantage but not mandatory.
Experience:
- 3-6 years of experience in legal advisory, property document scrutiny, or compliance, preferably in banking, housing finance, or NBFC sectors.
- Prior exposure to mortgage creation and housing finance transactions is desirable
