- We are seeking an accomplished and highly skilled, hands-on Director of Accounting, Finance, and Shared Services to lead our India-based Finance and Accounting operations and support our global finance organization. This leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence, supporting business goals, and overseeing a team of 20 to 30 professionals across multiple functions including General Accounting, AP/AR/Billing Shared Services, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, Cost Accounting, Tax Support, Concur and T&E, and Legal and Compliance.

- This position is highly visible globally and requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and tactical levels. The ideal candidate is a true "roll up your sleeves" operator with deep experience running a global support team Center of Excellence while also managing the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the India legal entities.

- The role will directly support the India Entities Executive CEO and the Global Chief Accounting Officer. Key responsibilities include managing daily Accounting and Finance activities for the India entities, driving operational excellence for teams supporting other global teams, and serving as the senior-most finance leader for India operations.

- This leader will collaborate daily with the Global Corporate Controller, Director of Shared Services, and Director of Tax in Plano, TX to ensure the India-based organization delivers best-in-class support across all financial workstreams.

Key Responsibilities:

India Entities Accounting & Finance Leadership & Management:

- Lead all day-to-day finance, accounting, statutory reporting, cash management, and compliance activities for the India entities.

- Oversee local audits, tax filings, secretarial compliance, and statutory requirements in partnership with local advisors and the Global Tax Director.

- Ensure India entities comply with Companies Act, GST regulations, payroll obligations, and other India-specific statutory frameworks.

- Serve as the senior Finance & Accounting partner to the local CEO and Leadership Team.

Global Accounting & Corporate Close Support:

- Oversee the India-based team responsible for executing end-to-end global close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany transactions and eliminations, fixed asset accounting, Cost Accounting, and master data management.

- Review, analyze, and interpret financial reports to identify key trends, variances, and risks, providing actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership across Finance and Operations.

- Ensure accurate, complete, and timely support for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end global consolidated reporting under US GAAP, including preparation and review of supporting schedules, analysis, and close artifacts.

- Establish, implement, and reinforce strong accounting controls, documentation standards, and close procedures that ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal accounting policies, and audit requirements.

- Partner closely with the Global Corporate Controller to strengthen the global close process by improving cycle times, elevating reporting quality, and driving automation, standardization, and system-driven efficiencies across the global finance organization.

Shared Services Leadership AP, AR, Billing, Cash Application:

- Lead and develop the India-based Shared Services organization supporting Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Application, Collections, and Vendor Management, ensuring reliable, scalable, and high-quality service delivery to global stakeholders.

- Drive end-to-end standardization, automation, and process optimization across all shared services functions, establishing measurable KPIs, SLA adherence, productivity metrics, and strong governance routines.

- Improve cash flow performance by partnering with AR, Billing, and operational teams to reduce DSO, enhance credit evaluation practices, streamline dispute resolution, and strengthen collections effectiveness.

- Ensure AP processes follow global procurement-to-pay policies, including proper invoice validation, payment scheduling, vendor onboarding, compliance controls, and approval workflow execution.

- Build a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, leveraging technology, ERP capabilities, and automation tools to increase throughput, accuracy, and transparency across high-volume transactional areas.

Tax Support, Compliance & Global Reporting:

- Coordinate India-related tax requirements, tax packages, provision support, and statutory reporting required by the global tax function.

- Support transfer pricing documentation, intercompany charges, cross-border compliance, and revenue/expense allocations between India and other global entities.

- Assist with international tax reporting packages, schedules, and audits.

Legal, Compliance & Governance Oversight:

- Oversee the India Legal & Compliance lead who reports into this role.

- Own internal compliance programs, policies, regulatory filings, and risk mitigation across India operations.

- Ensure adherence to corporate governance frameworks, labor regulations, and internal audit actions.

Concur, Travel & Expense (T&E) Governance:

- Manage the T&E compliance program across India and support global Concur administration.

- Strengthen controls around expense approvals, reimbursements, audit rules, and employee compliance.

- Work closely with Shared Services AP to ensure timely and accurate processing.

Global Operations Support & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

- Act as the daily India counterpart to the Global Controller, Director of Shared Services, and Director of Tax.

- Serve as the primary India-based counterpart to the Global Controller, Director of Shared Services, and Director of Tax, ensuring alignment, continuity, and seamless execution across all global finance workstreams.

- Partner closely with Global stakeholders across Accounting, Finance Systems, Operations, Sales, HR, and IT to support cross-functional initiatives, resolve operational issues, and ensure consistent global processes and standards.

- Oversee the India-based team responsible for providing production support, financial analysis, reporting and dashboard development, reconciliations, data integrity checks, and ERP (D365) support across multiple entities and business units.

- Drive effective coordination and communication across global time zones, ensuring real-time coverage, hand-offs, and operational continuity to support a 24-hour global finance model.

- Foster strong relationships with both India and other Global leadership teams, enabling proactive problem solving, transparent communication, and high levels of service delivery across the global organization.

Team Leadership, Capability Building & Organizational Development:

- Lead and grow a high-performing India Finance organization of 20 to 30 professionals.

- Implement hiring standards, training programs, KPI dashboards, and professional development routines.

- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

- Provide ongoing feedback and training to enhance the technical expertise and professional growth of the team.

- Build succession planning and bench strength across the India finance organization.

Process Improvement, Technology Enablement & Transformation:

- Drive standardization and continuous improvement across accounting, shared services, and compliance.

- Partner with global IT/Finance Systems to enhance D365, Power BI reporting, automation tools (OCR/RPA), and workflows.

- Lead projects to streamline financial processes, improve control environments, and reduce manual work.

- Support global ERP enhancements, implementations, and system upgrades.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education and Certification:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.

- CA, CPA, Chartered Accountant, CMA, MBA, or other advanced financial credential strongly preferred.

Experience

- 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting including 5+ years in a leadership role.

- Experience managing India based support centers or global shared services teams strongly preferred.

- Prior experience supporting multinational organizations operating across complex entity structures.

- Strong background in US GAAP, financial close, AP/AR/Billing operations, internal controls, and compliance.

- Experience working with global cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

- Exposure to tax compliance, statutory reporting, and India regulatory frameworks.

Technical Skills

- Strong understanding of accounting principles, shared services operations, and financial reporting.

- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred), Concur, and automation technologies (OCR/RPA).

- Advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.

Leadership & Soft Skills

- Exceptional leadership presence with the ability to influence globally across matrixed relationships.

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with executive-level presentation capability.

- Ability to manage large teams, scale operations, and drive alignment between India and other Global organizations.
