Role Overview:
The Finance Controller at Westbury Sportswear will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company's Bangalore operations. This role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management. The Finance Controller will work closely with various departments, including sales, marketing, and operations, to optimize financial performance and support business growth. This role directly impacts the company's profitability and financial stability, ensuring compliance and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into financial performance.
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads to develop realistic and achievable financial targets.
- Oversee the company's tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filing of all tax returns.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GAAP.
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making, including investment analysis and pricing strategies.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development.
- Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to track and analyze production costs.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of financial control, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proven expertise in accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of taxation laws and regulations.
- Hands-on experience with cost accounting and inventory management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
