Wakefit - Production Manager - Unit Head

Position Details :

Position : Production Manager (Unit Head)

Manufacturing Location : Hosur

Reporting To : Director - Head of furniture & Head of Factory operations (Central)

Category - Furniture : Engineering Wood, Solid Wood, Fabrication, Sofa

Key Responsibilities :

1. Productivity :

- Utilization targets per the year, 70% across all applicable shifts

2. Quality :

- 99% quality rate

- Act as the voice of the customer within manufacturing operations.

- Ensure product quality standards consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.

- Utilise customer feedback, field failures, warranty trends and operational insights to continuously improve manufacturing processes

3. Cost :

- Identifying new projects to reduce fixed and variable costs and execution till closure and hereby achieving AOP targets

- Own plant profitability through productivity improvement, waste elimination, material optimisation and process excellence.

- Challenge existing assumptions and identify innovative ways to improve operational efficiency while maintaining quality and safety standards.

4. Delivery :

- OTIF 98%+, conducting daily cadence, solutioning and sustenance

5. Safety :

- Ensuring and guiding best safety practises and driving related projects

- Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental and regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety.

6. Morale :

- Identifying best practises and gaps in Wakefit

- Foster a culture of operational excellence through Lean Manufacturing, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen, Six Sigma and structured problem solving.

Essential Qualifications :

- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, Production or Manufacturing Engineering.

- 12+ years of manufacturing experience.

- 5+ years leading a manufacturing facility.

- Experience managing large production teams.

Preferred Qualifications :

- MBA Operations or equivalent.

- Lean Manufacturing Certification.

- TPM Certification.

- Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt.

- Experience in Mattress, Foam, Consumer Durables, FMCG or Automotive industries.
