Role Overview:

As the Vice President - Regulatory (Energy Sector), you will be at the forefront of navigating the complex regulatory landscape and managing critical contracts within the dynamic energy sector. Your day-to-day will involve providing strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, overseeing contract negotiations and administration, and ensuring the company operates within legal and ethical boundaries. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including legal, finance, operations, and business development, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, partners, and customers. Your leadership will directly impact the company's ability to secure favorable agreements, maintain compliance, mitigate risks, and drive sustainable growth in a rapidly evolving market.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement comprehensive regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, minimizing potential risks and liabilities for the organization.

- Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review of a wide range of contracts, including power purchase agreements, supply agreements, construction contracts, and joint venture agreements, to protect the company's interests and maximize value.

- Provide expert legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders on complex issues related to the energy sector, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.

- Manage and oversee the contract management process, ensuring timely execution, accurate record-keeping, and effective monitoring of contractual obligations, to optimize performance and minimize disputes.

- Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other external stakeholders, building strong relationships and advocating for the company's interests.

- Monitor and analyze changes in the regulatory environment, assessing their potential impact on the company's operations and developing proactive strategies to adapt to new requirements.

- Develop and deliver training programs on regulatory compliance and contract management best practices to enhance the knowledge and skills of employees across the organization.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance within the energy sector, including a deep understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

- Proven ability to negotiate, draft, and manage complex contracts, with a strong focus on risk mitigation and value creation.

- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-making at all levels.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions.

- Ability to provide clear and concise legal and regulatory advice to internal stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.

- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team of professionals.

- Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

- Possess 15-25 years of relevant experience in the energy sector.
