
Reputed real estate organization seeking a seasoned VP Legal to lead the organization's legal, compliance, and corporate governance functions. The role requires a legal leader with deep expertise in real estate laws, land transactions, due diligence, RERA compliance, litigation management, corporate legal affairs, and regulatory advisory.
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate Legal Leadership:
- Lead all legal matters related to residential and township developments.
- Oversee title verification, land acquisition support, legal due diligence, development agreements, joint development agreements (JDAs), conveyance deeds, lease deeds, and transactional documentation.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on project structuring and risk management.
Corporate Legal & Governance:
- Head the corporate legal function and advise senior leadership on legal and regulatory matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize complex commercial contracts and corporate agreements.
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance standards and statutory requirements.
- Manage board-related legal documentation and governance frameworks.
RERA & Regulatory Compliance:
- Lead RERA registrations, compliance management, regulatory filings, and advisory.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and central regulations governing real estate projects.
- Advise business teams on legal implications of regulatory developments.
Due Diligence & Transactions:
- Lead legal due diligence for land acquisitions, project acquisitions, investments, partnerships, and strategic transactions.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with development projects and commercial transactions.
- Coordinate with external counsels, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
- Manage litigation, arbitration, consumer matters, and regulatory proceedings.
- Formulate legal strategies for dispute resolution and risk containment.
- Monitor and manage external law firms and legal advisors.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- LL.B. / LL.M. from a reputed institution.
- 1824 years of post-qualification experience.
- Should have worked in the real estate (residential development) company in a leadership role.
- Strong experience with leading real estate developers, PropTech firms, or new-age real estate organizations.
- Proven expertise in real estate transactions, land documentation, title due diligence, RERA, litigation, and corporate legal affairs.
- Excellent understanding of property laws, contract law, corporate law, and regulatory frameworks.
