Vice President - Finance - Steel & Mining

The Role:

Our client is a large Group in the domain of Steel, Metals and Mining. They are looking to hire a Vice President Finance for their group. The role will lead key areas of fundraising, project finance, treasury, working capital, financial planning, MIS and financial controls, while supporting the Group's expansion and capital deployment. The role is both administrative and strategic in nature. This role works closely with the promoters and Group CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead fundraising through term loans, working-capital facilities, project finance, structured debt and refinancing.

- Manage relationships with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions and other funding partners.

- Support Greenfield and Brownfield project financing, including financial modelling, project appraisal and lender engagement.

- Drive treasury, liquidity and working-capital management across Group entities.

- Support the CFO in capital structure, borrowing strategy and financing decisions.

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, MIS and financial-performance reviews across businesses and plants.

- Evaluate CAPEX and strategic investments through financial modelling, IRR, NPV and sensitivity analysis.

- Strengthen commercial finance covering pricing, margins, credit, procurement economics and contracts.

- Monitor debt, interest costs, cash flows, covenants and overall financial risk.

- Strengthen financial controls, compliance and governance across multiple entities.

- Lead and develop Finance, Treasury, Accounts, Tax and FP&A teams.

Candidate Profile:

- CA preferred; MBA Finance would be great.

- 15+ years of finance experience, including significant exposure to senior finance roles.

- Experience in Steel, Metals, Mining, Alumina, Power or other capital-intensive industries preferred.

- Strong track record in fundraising, project finance, treasury and banking.

- Experience in working capital, budgeting, MIS and financial controls.

- Exposure to large CAPEX and Greenfield/Brownfield projects.

- Experience managing finance across multiple entities/plants.

- Strong ability to work with CFOs, Promoters, banks and senior business leadership.

- Strong leadership, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
