Purpose :

This position will focus on Business leadership, People leadership while also acting as Site Head for the Veramed Hyderabad Office. The role ensures delivery governance, quality oversight, recruitment planning, and site operations management.

Key Responsibilities :

The job tasks listed below outline the scope of the position. The application of these tasks may vary, based on current business needs.

Site Leadership :

- Support the Veramed India Leadership and Operational Teams in the strategic and day-to-day management of the Hyderabad office.

- Support the recruitment process for staff joining the site, including managing site visits and onsite interviews, new staff onboarding.

- Lead staff engagement activities, including oversight of team events.

- Ensure Health and Safety regulations are followed.

- Liaise with building representatives and onsite services as required.

- Oversee office supplies, equipment and office security.

- Assess potential new office premises as required.

- Provide leadership and direction to staff regarding office-related company policies.

- Perform work in full compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, company policies, procedures and training.

Business Leadership:

- Operate as an active member of the Veramed Operational Management Team.

- Hold business accountability for specific business units, including responsibility for biometrics deliverables, profitability, appropriate resourcing and efficient delivery processes while maintaining Veramed quality standards.

- Support business development activities, including marketing needs, technical sales meetings, budgets, proposals and bid defence meetings.

- Develop and deliver internal training where appropriate.

- Lead SOP development and updates where appropriate, identifying gaps or omissions based on business intelligence and newly released regulatory guidance.

- Drive innovation initiatives, including automation and AI-led transformation.

- Promote adoption of innovative technologies, including AI and automation, within statistical programming practices and standards.

People Management :

- Line manage senior team members and be accountable for the overall performance of direct reports.

- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with direct reports and complete annual performance reviews.

- Ensure direct reports who are line managers have received the necessary line manager training.

- Provide coaching and mentoring to help staff achieve excellence, support career development and ensure appropriate training for day-to-day responsibilities.

- Interview, onboard and integrate new staff members effectively.

- Provide technical leadership and coaching.

- Foster a culture of continuous learning, with emphasis on emerging technologies such as AI/ML, automation, and digital tools.

- Provide regular formal and informal feedback to staff members in India.

- Identify knowledge gaps for staff members and put plans in place to close those gaps.

Project Management :

- Provide client and project oversight for specific business units.

- Provide leadership and guidance to project leads to support project delivery.

- Be responsible for client and project-related governance.

- Scrutinise project planning and maintenance to support delivery.

- Proactively manage resources, scope change and risks.

- Manage client expectations and issue resolution.

- Lead internal, client study, project and cross-functional team meetings effectively.

- Oversee key client projects and portfolios, including account management, delivery of key milestones to time and quality, and delivery within budget.

- Maintain strong oversight of resource utilisation and billability.

Industry Leadership :

- Represent Veramed externally through participation in industry forums and professional bodies (e.g., CDISC, PHUSE, ISCR etc.).

- Contribute to thought leadership via conference presentations, publications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

- Enhance organisational visibility and branding within the clinical research and biometrics community.

- Develop a culture of thought leadership among team members.

Technical Leadership :

- Provide consultancy support for existing and/or new clients as required.

- Review clinical trial documents including protocols, SAPs, CRFs and CSRs.

- Author, review and approve study TFL shells and dataset specifications.

- Author, validate and document SAS/R/Python (or in any other programming language) programs for datasets, TFLs and macros, applying good programming practice.

- Complete, review and approve CDISC validation tool reports.

- Identify data and standards issues and resolve or escalate as appropriate.

- Lead internal, client study, project and cross-functional team meetings effectively.

- Share scientific, technical and practical knowledge within the team and with colleagues.

- Maintain awareness of emerging standards and associated impact on ongoing and future planned trials.

- Maintain proficiency in SAS/R/Python (or in any other programming language) and awareness of relevant developments.

- Maintain study master file documents and other documents required to be audit ready.

- Perform work in full compliance with applicable internal and client policies, procedures, processes and training, and ensure compliance of direct reports.

- Drive integration of AI-enabled tools into day-to-day workflows (e.g., code generation, quality control optimisation, documentation automation, and productivity improvements).

Minimum Qualification Requirements :

- BSc, MSc, in numerical discipline or in life sciences (or relevant equivalent industry experience).

- At least 10 years of relevant industry experience.

- A minimum of 5 years leadership experience building and managing biometrics teams.

Other Information / Additional Requirements :

- Understanding of clinical drug development process, relevant disease areas, endpoints, and different study designs.

- Awareness of industry and project standards & ICH guidelines.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Interpersonal/teamwork skills for effective interactions.

- Self-management skills with a focus on results for timely and accurate completion of competing deliverables.

- Demonstrated problem solving ability and attention to detail.

- Leadership experience (people and/or projects).

- Ability to make informed and appropriate decisions.
