Vakilsearch - Patent Analyst

- The key responsibilities are conducting all kinds of patent searches, writing search opinions, patent drafting, prosecution, portfolio management, and supporting business development efforts.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Drafting, Filing & Prosecution of Patent Applications across Pan India.

- Making patent searches.

- Drafting patent applications.

- Filing patent applications.

- Preparing IP opinions (patentability, FTO, invalidity)

- Providing insightful analysis of search results from various sources.

- Providing expert technical and legal analysis.

- Handling patent challenges.

Qualification(s):

- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech/ME, PhDs, (Electronics) or any other equivalent qualification.

Experience:

Nature of Experience: Must have experience in patent preparation and prosecution in a reputed / Mid-size law firm.

Length of Experience: 5 - 7 years.

Skill Set & Personality Traits required:

- Excellent language skills in English, both written and verbal.

- Experience in Patent analytics or drafting is a must.

- Must be a registered Patent Agent/Attorney with the Indian Patent Office is mandatory.

- Prior experience in patent preparation and prosecution in a law firm environment is desired.

Age Group: 22 - 27 years

Cost to the company: As per industry norms.

Location: Chennai.

Additional information: Minimum of 5 year of experience in drafting and/or prosecuting patent applications, conducting and writing opinions on all kinds of patent searches; at least 2 year of which was spent as a patent agent or in a related role(s) within an IP law firm.
