Job Opening: Unit Head / Site Head (Specialty Chemicals)

Location: Sayakha, Gujarat

Salary: 25-40 LPA CTC (Commensurate with experience and expertise)

Role Overview:

A leading specialty chemicals manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Unit Head / Site Head to lead its multi-product manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for driving overall plant performance across production, maintenance, engineering, EHS, utilities, warehouse, dispatch, quality coordination, and administration while ensuring operational excellence, safety, quality, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end plant operations including Production, Maintenance, Engineering, Utilities, EHS, Warehouse, Dispatch, and Administration.

- Ensure achievement of production targets while maintaining safety, quality, cost, and delivery commitments.

- Drive production planning, campaign management, equipment utilization, and process optimization.

- Troubleshoot manufacturing and process issues to improve yield, productivity, and plant reliability.

- Support scale-up of new products and technology transfer from R&D to commercial manufacturing.

- Strengthen process safety systems including HAZOP, MOC, permit-to-work, incident investigation, and risk management.

- Ensure statutory, environmental, and safety compliance across the manufacturing site.

- Improve equipment reliability through preventive maintenance and engineering excellence.

- Build robust documentation, ERP/SAP discipline, production MIS, and operational reporting.

- Lead customer audits, technical discussions, and support CDMO/custom manufacturing projects.

- Develop and mentor high-performing teams while driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

- Optimize manufacturing costs through improvements in yield, energy efficiency, solvent recovery, maintenance, and manpower productivity.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred). Candidates with Chemistry backgrounds and significant manufacturing leadership experience may also be considered.

- 18-25+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing with at least 58 years in a Plant Head, Site Head, Unit Head, or Operations Head role.

- Strong exposure to multi-product batch manufacturing.

- Experience in Specialty Chemicals, Agrochemical Intermediates, Fine Chemicals, Dyes & Pigments, or related industries.

- Sound knowledge of hydrogenation, chlorination, oxidation, sulfonation, amination, distillation, filtration, drying, and solvent recovery processes.

- Strong leadership, technical troubleshooting, process safety, and people management skills.
