Role Overview:

This Human Resource - Industrial Relation - Unit Head HR role is responsible for leading and managing all HR and Industrial Relations activities at the Mumbai unit. The role involves working closely with the plant leadership team, union representatives, and employees to foster a positive and productive work environment. The Unit Head HR will play a critical role in ensuring harmonious labour relations, compliance with labour laws, and effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, ultimately contributing to the smooth functioning and success of the manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives of the manufacturing unit, ensuring a skilled and engaged workforce.

- Manage all aspects of Industrial Relations, including negotiations with labour unions, grievance handling, and conflict resolution, to maintain a peaceful and productive work environment.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and regulations, minimizing legal risks and ensuring ethical and responsible employment practices.

- Oversee HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits, and employee development, to attract, retain, and motivate top talent.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with union representatives and employees, fostering open communication and collaboration to address concerns and promote a positive employee experience.

- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective HR service delivery and professional development.

- Drive employee engagement initiatives, such as surveys, focus groups, and recognition programs, to improve employee morale and productivity.

- Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven solutions to enhance HR effectiveness.

Required Skillset:

Demonstrated ability to manage complex Industrial Relations issues and negotiate effectively with labour unions.

Proven expertise in interpreting and applying labour laws and regulations.

Exceptional skills in grievance handling, conflict resolution, and employee relations.

Strong understanding of HR operations and best practices in a manufacturing environment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
