Key Responsibilities:

Commercial & Sales Execution:

- Manage sales and distribution of fertilizer products (primarily Urea and MAP) through resellers and corporate clients in NSW and QLD.

- Lead acquisition of new customers and expand the reseller/corporate network in the region.

- Drive achievement of business targets in accordance with the budget and territory growth objectives.

- Market & Competitive Intelligence

- Track competitor movements, global market trends, pricing, and supply dynamics.

- Prepare market intelligence insights to support strategic decision-making.

- Relationship Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with resellers, corporates, vendors, and industry stakeholders.

- Represent the organization at key regional industry events and networking platforms.

- Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely resolution of issues related to deliveries, accounts settlement, and service coordination.

- Trade Operations & Coordination

- Oversee fertilizer trading operations from enquiry generation to payment collection.

- Coordinate with internal teams and shipping agents for logistics, port operations, and warehousing.

- Support sourcing and logistics teams with competitive price negotiations and cost-effective storage/transportation solutions.

- Ensure accuracy and timely preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports including price movements and market trends.

Governance, Risk & Compliance:

- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, internal SOPs, and risk management procedures.

- Support real-time updates and adherence to internal systems and processes.

Key Challenges:

- Expanding the customer base in a highly competitive fertilizer market.

- Securing reliable storage facilities in Newcastle / Port Kembla and managing associated operations.

- Establishing the organization as a trusted and credible trading partner in the Australian fertilizer market.

- Managing inter-office coordination and end-to-end trade execution across multiple internal teams.

- Effectively managing product positioning in a market characterized by price and supply volatility.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Business Growth:

- Acquire new customers and enhance the buyer base to drive higher volumes and profitability.

- Strengthen relationships with existing clients and resellers.

Business Planning & Market Strategy:

- Review market intelligence and competitor insights to contribute to annual planning and strategic execution.

- Provide market feedback to management to support informed decision-making.

Stakeholder Management:

- Maintain strong connections with customers, counterparties, and external partners.

- Ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Compliance & Risk Management:

- Ensure adherence to statutory, risk, and internal SOP requirements.

Trade Operations:

- Negotiate pricing with customers and coordinate with logistics partners for efficient handling and storage.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

- Strong understanding of the Australian fertilizer market, particularly within NSW and QLD.

- Excellent relationships with local resellers and corporate buyers; ability to generate immediate business.

- 12-14 years of experience in commodity trading, with at least 10 years in fertilizer trading.

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills.
