
Job title: Project Manager - Industrial Automation

Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage at least three industrial automation projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring seamless execution.
- Work closely with clients to gather requirements, prepare automation concepts, and obtain DAP (Design Approval Process) approvals.
- Collaborate with Electrical and Controls teams to design, develop, and integrate automation solutions.
- Oversee the selection and specification of automation components and technologies, including indexers, conveyors, modular pneumatics, pick-and-place systems, and grippers.
Evaluate and specify articulated or parallel robots, end effectors, robotic grippers, gantry systems, and cobots (experience in cobots is an added advantage).
- Integrate vision systems and linear motion products into automation solutions.
- Manage and implement common industrial automation operations such as sorting, stacking/unstacking, locating, storing, conveying, pick-and-place, tending, tracking, packing, kitting, light assembly, palletizing, and depalletizing.
- Conceptualize and design special-purpose or general-purpose automation systems for various industrial applications, including motor power calculations, gearbox selection, and standard machine component integration.
- Ensure compliance with European machinery directives 2006/42/EC, UL standards, and CE requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety measures are in place for all automation projects.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, manufacturing, and commissioning teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and project teams.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
- Minimum of [Specify] years of experience in managing industrial automation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully leading at least three automation projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of industrial automation components, robotics, vision systems, and motion control.
- Experience in system integration and working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Familiarity with European machinery directives, UL standards, and CE certification requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Willingness to travel for onsite commissioning and client meetings as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of programming PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Hands-on experience in automation software tools and simulation software.
