Position: Technical Head Solar Energy Solutions ( Two positions

Location: Madagascar & Mauritius

Overview:

A leading diversified group is establishing a new venture focused on solar energy solutions in Madagascar and seeks a Technical Head to spearhead the technical and operational aspects of this initiative. The role will involve setting up and leading the technical organization for commercial, industrial, and residential solar projects, ensuring world-class standards in design, implementation, and after-sales service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute the technical roadmap for the solar business in alignment with corporate growth objectives.

- Lead system design and engineering activities, ensuring optimal system sizing based on load analysis, solar irradiance data, and site conditions.

- Oversee component selection, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and battery storage systems, ensuring cost efficiency and technical reliability.

- Supervise end-to-end project delivery from concept design to installation and commissioningmaintaining adherence to timelines, budgets, and performance benchmarks.

- Coordinate with business development, procurement, and field operations teams to ensure seamless execution.

- Establish and enforce quality control procedures, installation standards, and documentation protocols.

- Ensure full compliance with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and hybrid/backup power integration requirements.

- Conduct periodic audits and performance reviews of ongoing and completed projects.

- Build and mentor a multidisciplinary technical team comprising design engineers, project supervisors, and service technicians as the business scales.

- Provide technical leadership in evaluating new technologies, suppliers, and innovation opportunities within the renewable energy domain.

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline; Masters degree preferred.

- 10-12 years of progressive experience in solar PV system design, engineering, and project management, including leadership of technical teams.

- Strong knowledge of solar system design software, energy storage systems, and hybrid power configurations.

- Proven track record in managing large-scale solar projects across industrial or commercial environments.

- Strong analytical, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a commitment to safety and operational excellence.
