Team Leader - Commercial Real Estate Mortgage

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Team Leader to oversee a team of analysts supporting a leading UK Banks Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lending operations.

This role will manage day-to-day delivery, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and managing clients UK stakeholders.

The position demands strong leadership, in-depth knowledge of CRE lending, and proven ability to drive cross-border collaboration.


Key Responsibilities


Team Management & Delivery:

- Lead and mentor analysts processing CRE loan applications, credit documentation, and portfolio management.

- Ensure delivery in line with SLAs/KPIs with a 98%+ right-first-time documentation accuracy.

- Track, review, and report team performance; conduct regular feedback and coaching.


Operational Excellence:

- Enforce adherence to AAF Lending Policy, Standards, and Lending Criteria.

- Review and approve credit papers/documentation prior to submission.


- Support the use of front-end systems to monitor loan applications through approval.


Stakeholder Engagement:

- Act as the single point of contact for client stakeholders in the UK.

- Manage escalations, provide operational updates, and lead process alignment discussions.

- Facilitate transparent, regular communication between India and UK teams.


Compliance & Risk:

- Oversee collaboration with KYC and Financial Crime teams for onboarding/fraud cases.

- Ensure compliance with UK banking regulations and client-specific policies.


Process Improvement & Reporting:

- Identify and implement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.

- Prepare and present performance reports, dashboards, and insights for senior leadership.


Training & Development:

- Conduct training on UK CRE lending practices, compliance, and systems.

- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.


Ad Hoc:

- Participate in UK stakeholder meetings as required.

- Handle special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.


Candidate Profile:


Education & Experience:

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or financial services.

- Proven experience in leading teams and working with UK/international banking clients.


Skills & Competencies:

- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

- Excellent knowledge of CRE lending, credit documentation, and compliance.

- Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.

- High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.

- Proficient in banking systems, reporting, and MS Office tools.
