Role Overview
As a Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in driving revenue growth through strategic planning, effective team leadership, and execution of sales initiatives. This is a frontline leadership position that requires strong business acumen, deep customer focus, and the ability to manage and motivate a dynamic sales team. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and contribute significantly to regional business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement region-specific sales strategies to achieve organizational growth targets.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of sales professionals to enhance productivity and engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and intermediaries.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to refine sales approaches.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide training and support for continuous team development.
- Collaborate with underwriting, product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure smooth sales enablement and policy servicing.
- Analyze sales data, generate reports, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory guidelines in all sales activities.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in sales, preferably in general insurance, BFSI, or financial services.
- Proven ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies and lead high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of customer behavior, sales cycles, and channel management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and capable of working independently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in the insurance sector (especially general insurance) will be an added advantage.
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification in Sales or Marketing is desirable.
