In February 2026, PTMDI secured the largest-ever order in its history: an agreement to supply 70,000 commercial vehicles (35,000 units of the Tata Yodha pick-up and 35,000 units of the Ultra T.7 truck) to PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise driving agricultural modernisation, rural logistics, and national food security. This phased, multi-year delivery programme represents a transformational milestone for Tata Motors in Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities :
- Define and drive the financial strategy for the Indonesian CV business, aligned with Tata Motors Group objectives and the requirements of the 70,000-vehicle delivery program.
- Act as a strategic business partner to the Managing Director and the leadership team, providing financial insights that enable data-driven commercial and operational decisions.
- Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts for the Indonesia CV operations.
- Identify and mitigate financial risks across the order lifecycle, including supply chain, currency, credit, and counterparty risks.
- Oversee the complete financial management of the 70,000-unit vehicle supply agreement with PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, including contract financial governance, milestone billing, and collections.
- Develop and maintain a robust financial model for the phased delivery schedule, tracking revenue recognition, cost-to-complete, margin performance, and working capital requirements.
- Manage government and state-owned enterprise (SOE) payment structures, guarantees, and financial instruments specific to public sector contracts in Indonesia.
- Coordinate with Tata Motors Limited (India) on inter-company pricing, transfer pricing compliance, and group-level reporting for the project.
- Ensure all financing arrangements (including letters of credit, bank guarantees, and trade finance) are structured optimally for the order fulfilment timeline.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with Indonesian Financial Accounting Standards (PSAK) and IFRS as required by the parent group.
- Ensure robust internal controls, financial policies, and standard operating procedures are in place and adhered to across all finance functions.
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, presenting P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis to the Board and Group leadership.
- Manage all statutory audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions in Indonesia, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Manage treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and banking relationships in Indonesia.
- Optimize working capital across the supply chain, dealer network, and government receivables pipeline.
- Oversee foreign exchange risk management, including hedging strategies for USD/IDR and INR/IDR exposures arising from the inter-company supply arrangement.
- Manage relationships with banks, financial institutions, and credit agencies to secure competitive financing for operations and the landmark order fulfilment.
- Ensure full compliance with Indonesian corporate tax law (including PPh and PPN regulations), import duties, and all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance for inter-company transactions with Tata Motors Limited and other group entities.
- Liaise with Indonesian government authorities, including the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), customs authorities, and the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) as required.
- Stay current with changes in Indonesian fiscal policy that may impact vehicle imports, commercial operations, and SOE contracting.
- Lead financial due diligence, structuring, and negotiation support for all significant commercial contracts, dealer agreements, and government supply arrangements.
- Support the development of commercial vehicle pricing strategies, dealer margin frameworks, and customer financing programmes.
- Assess and manage financial risk in distribution agreements, after-sales contracts, and service support arrangements.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team in Indonesia, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and financial rigor.
- Identify skill gaps and drive training and development initiatives within the finance function.
- Promote cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, logistics, sales, legal, and HR teams to ensure aligned execution of the vehicle delivery programme.

- On-time revenue recognition and invoicing for the 70,000-vehicle delivery programme
- Collections performance and Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for government/SOE accounts

Qualifications & Experience :
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification strongly preferred.
- Professionally qualified accountant CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, multi-year government or public sector supply contracts in Indonesia or Southeast Asia.
- Strong knowledge of Indonesian financial regulations, PSAK, taxation (PPh and PPN), and import/customs frameworks.
- Proven experience in working capital management, treasury operations, and trade finance instruments (LCs, bank guarantees, etc.).
- Experience in the automotive, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, or industrial manufacturing sector is highly desirable.
- Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English (written and spoken) is required.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a multinational, Indian conglomerate, or Tata Group entity.
- Experience with inter-company and transfer pricing in a cross-border supply context.
- Knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation reporting for a listed parent company.
- Exposure to ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial analytics platforms.
- Experience working with Indonesian state-owned enterprises (BUMN) or government ministries on major procurement programmes.

Additional Information :
This role may require up to 30% travel within Indonesia to support delivery operations, government stakeholder engagement, and dealer/distributor financial oversight. Candidates with existing, strong relationships within Indonesia's government and state-owned enterprise ecosystem will be at a distinct advantage.
