JOB DESCRIPTION   ROLE :   Business Title - Senior PRB Specialist, South Asia  Grade - 5  Business Unit - Human Resources 		 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS  	 Reports Directly - Head, Performance, Reward and Benefits Delivery, South Asia  Direct Reports - Two Band 6 roles, managing India /Subsidiaries and Other countries (BD,SL,Nepal) in the region. 	 PURPOSE: (Explain succinctly the reason for existence of the role)  Standard Chartered is a leading provider of banking solutions across emerging markets in Asia, Africa and Middle East markets. Within Human Resources, a key specialist function is the Performance, Reward and Benefits (PRB) delivery cluster.  The role is responsible for Performance, Reward and Benefit function across South Asia markets with specific focus on the salary survey process, bi annual performance and pay review activity, driving the wellness agenda across the region and performing an advisory and consultative role to business and HR stakeholders.  Some of the key deliverables of this role are:  STRATEGIC and ADVISORY  1.	Understand business specific product needs and design PRB solutions for the business, consistent with Group policies, leveraging the expertise and tools from PRB product Specialist teams and drawing analytical support from HRSSC.   2.	Act as a trusted reward adviser to the business stakeholders. Improve business and HRs understanding of reward and how reward programmes can be effectively and appropriately used to drive business performance and motivate employees.   3.	Provide counsel to the HR and business management team on complex compensation issues, including (but not limited to) structuring packages for Banded employees, reviewing new hires, managing changes to existing employees’ contracts and share buy-outs.   4.	Lead PRB integration activities in region and, where appropriate, support due diligence and other integration activities.  5.	To collaborate with HR Product leads and HRSSC to ensure seamless delivery of PRB products and processes across the region in line with the Bank's strategy.  6.	To collaborate with HR Business partners and Specialists in country and ensure reward programs are effective and appropriate and drive business performance.  PEOPLE, TECHNOLOGY, VENDOR Partnerships and RISK management  7.	To ensure operational efficiency in partnership with HRSSC (shared service centre) and enhance employee experience.  8.	To build strong network with all local regulatory authorities & stakeholders.  9.	To work with the Regional Head of PRBD and the Risk lead for the region in directing and overseeing the day-to-day management of operational risks in PRB products and processes.  10.	On risk management, identify and articulate forward looking risks for the country. Articulate and manage them through designated PRB risk registers and HR FORC. Ensure all geographical specific Operational Risk (OR) and Compliance requirements related to PRB delivery are met.  11.	Support statutory and internal audits, as appropriate.  12.	Appoint and deploy PRB staff within the region and motivate / develop them to attain high standard of performance.  GLOBAL Processes and Operations  13.	Manage the interim and final Performance, Pay & Potential (P3) processes from the perspective of the region, in line with Group guidelines and acting as a point of contact for their respective management teams. Specifically:  - Lead discussions with the business teams in relation to the Group P3 messaging.  - Coordinate all relevant business communication including P3 key messages.  - Manage other annual compensation process including budgeting and forecasting.  14.	Collaborate with all PRB specialists on market pricing to increase the level of consistency across markets, reduce vendor costs and generally ensure data is used in an impactful manner.   15.	Assist in review of the Group international reward (including IM) policies and processes  16.	Facilitate the running of geographical retail banking plan committees. Drive robust discussions related to front line productivity and linkages to pay and provide useful market insights and internal metrics.   17.	Independently driving the market survey process for the region which interfaces with the group, shared services team and the will involve increasing stakeholder belief in the data and processes, standardisation of usage of outputs and networking within the market.  18.	Providing counsel and perform and advisory role on compensation matters from time to time  19.	Engaging with Senior HR leaders to best shape and drive the HR collective agenda.  20.	Driving the Wellness agenda for the region.  The role will be instrumental in gaining a deeper understanding of the PRB products in relation to the group policy, regional context and internal stakeholders and thereby deliver consistent, fair and transparent outputs, which will enable the HR unit make appropriate decisions at the right time. Some responsibilities of the role would be :  - Stakeholder engagement  - Up skilling and increasing the knowledge base within the PRB delivery team  - Proactively build a good understanding of the Bank's policies, processes and systems, ensure that PRB deliveries are in accordance with our governance frameworks  - To be seen as a trusted partner who is able to couple PRB expertise with a deep knowledge of the business strategy, external trends and customer needs, to generate innovative solutions and anticipate business needs.  - Where appropriate and stakeholder relationships may rest with other PRB delivery colleagues, ensure that the knowledge / outcome of these relationships are captured and communicated appropriately within PRB delivery.   - Challenge the status quo with intellectual curiosity and personal courage, to promote ideation and creative thinking.  - Promptly escalate any potential issues, such as, but not limited to, implementation challenges, project delays, risks, feedback and material deviation from approved scope to Head, PRB Delivery, South Asia  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ACCOUNTABILITIES: (List typical pre-requisites for high performance)  - A minimum of 6 – 8 years of experience in Human resources with atleast 3 - 4 years focused on compensation and benefits  - Experience in the BFSI sector either directly or as a consultant would be preferred  - Education qualification should be from a premier B school of max 2006 batch  - Strong analytical skills with strategic thinking and great attention to details   - Strong planning, organization and time management skills  - Ability to manage various deliverables under tight deadlines   - Strong communication skills, self-starter, motivated, team player with good interpersonal skills to deal with all levels   - Strong in project and process management with focus on execution.  - Strong work orientation and taking ownership to deliver  - Highly proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint   Essential Skills  Future Focus:  - Able to articulate global vision and strategy into a localised strategy couple with understanding of business drivers in the region and countries for implementation.  - Challenge the status quo and promotes ideation and creative thinking for future focused solutions.  Influencing Right Outcomes:  Able to work with multiple data source collectively, and create business case/story supported by facts in order to influence stakeholders.   Applying the appropriate balance between technical knowledge and people skills to conduct structured communication in an open and transparent manner.   Role Modelling  Have high degree of emotional intelligence and able to adapt own style of communication to stakeholders and situations.   Always build rapport with a diverse range of people in the bank across functions, and proactively seek support when needed.  Business Mindset  Good understanding of business priorities and how it relates to the PRB agenda.   Able to anticipate business needs and address questions before they are asked.
