Position Purpose:
Design, implement, and continuously evaluate India's compensation and benefits programs-including salary structures, variable pay, health and welfare benefits, and retirement plans. Ensure compliance with local laws and alignment with business objectives. Manage annual C&B budget and champion HR technology platforms (Workday- , KRONOS, HRGo, ADP, etc.). Reports to Head of HR - Asia, with functional alignment to Global C&B (France).
Key Accountabilities:
Compensation & Benefits Strategy:
- Design, develop, implement, and manage salary, bonus, and benefits packages for India.
- Monitor salary structures and benefits; ensure competitiveness, compliance, and gender pay equity.
- Analyze market data and recommend adjustments to senior management; implement post-approval changes.
- Maintain parity between job grades and salary ranges across the organization.
- Research competitor strategies and adapt new-age benefits to attract and retain talent.
Annual & Mid-Year Processes:
- Lead Annual Merit and STI review; train managers and ensure timely payroll updates and communication.
- Manage mid-year salary/job changes and ensure accurate implementation.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Oversee payroll for all India entities; ensure 100% accuracy, timely compliance, and variance checks.
- Ensure adherence to statutory requirements (minimum wages, tax liabilities, social security).
Benefits Administration:
- Manage social security, insurance renewals, annual bonuses, incentives, and lifestyle benefits.
- Stay updated on market trends and innovative benefits for effective adaptation.
Analytics & Budgeting:
- Conduct periodic analysis of headcount, labor cost, overtime, and demographics.
- Lead annual budgeting for headcount and labor cost.
Technology & Process Improvement:
- Act as Workday Compensation Partner; ensure full utilization of HR systems.
- Drive digitization and automation initiatives for efficiency.
Employee Engagement & Governance:
- Ensure fair treatment across functions; uphold principles of market and fair pay.
- Lead Rewards & Recognition initiatives and engagement activities for India.
- Support M&A integration on C&B and payroll topics.
External Relations:
- Build relationships with benchmarking experts and insurance providers.
- Liaise with external partners for market data and best practices.
Functional competencies:
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Expertise in compensation design, payroll management, compliance, and HR technology.
- Ability to influence senior leadership and lead change initiatives
Technical Applicative competencies:
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Analytics tools such as PowerBI, Qliksense
- Productivity tools such as Teams, SharePoint
- HR Systems (preferably WorkDay)
- AI tools such as Copilot
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: MBA HR / Post Graduate in HR
Experience: 12 - 15 Years of relevant experience in a medium to high-volume manufacturing environment in an MNC will be preferred.
