Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced AVP / VP Project Finance professional to lead project finance, financial structuring, fundraising, and financial evaluation activities for large-scale projects. The role will be responsible for managing the complete project finance lifecycle, including financial modelling, debt raising, lender/investor relationships, transaction structuring, due diligence, and financial closure.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in project finance, infrastructure/real estate/capital-intensive projects, debt financing, financial modelling, and stakeholder management, with the ability to independently drive complex financing transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the project finance and funding strategy for new and ongoing projects.
- Develop and evaluate detailed project finance models, including project cash flows, profitability, IRR, NPV, DSCR, debt servicing, and sensitivity analysis.
- Assess project feasibility, funding requirements, capital structure, and financing options.
- Lead negotiations and execution of debt financing, structured finance, project loans, term loans, working capital facilities, and other funding arrangements.
- Coordinate with banks, financial institutions, NBFCs, private equity funds, investors, and other financing partners.
- Manage the complete financing lifecycle from funding requirement assessment to financial closure and post-disbursement monitoring.
- Prepare detailed information memorandums, lender presentations, financing proposals, and financial analysis for potential lenders and investors.
- Evaluate project risks, including financial, commercial, regulatory, execution, and operational risks.
- Work closely with project development, legal, commercial, treasury, accounting, and business teams to structure optimal financing solutions.
- Lead lender and investor due diligence processes and coordinate responses to financial and commercial queries.
- Review and negotiate key financing terms, including interest rates, repayment structures, security packages, covenants, guarantees, DSRA, moratoriums, and other financing conditions.
- Monitor project financial performance, cash flows, debt obligations, and compliance with financing covenants.
- Support refinancing, restructuring, and additional funding requirements where required.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with financial institutions and other external stakeholders.
- Provide senior management with insights on project economics, funding strategy, liquidity, and financial risks.
- Mentor and guide finance professionals involved in project finance and corporate finance activities.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10-20 years of relevant experience in Project Finance, Corporate Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Real Estate Finance, Investment Banking, or related areas.
- Strong experience in project finance transactions and debt fundraising.
- Hands-on expertise in developing and reviewing complex financial models.
- Strong understanding of project finance concepts such as IRR, NPV, DSCR, debt sizing, cash-flow waterfalls, sensitivity analysis, and financial feasibility.
- Experience in negotiating and executing financing transactions with banks, NBFCs, financial institutions, and investors.
- Strong understanding of debt structuring, project loans, term loans, structured finance, and refinancing.
- Experience managing financial due diligence and lender/investor requirements.
- Strong understanding of financing documentation, security structures, covenants, and lender conditions.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling.
- Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects and financing transactions simultaneously.
