Experience:

- 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in liaisoning roles

- Prior experience in construction, infrastructure, or real estate projects is preferred

- Proven exposure to handling statutory approvals and government coordination

Age:

- 25 to 35 years

Education:

- Bachelors degree in Law

- Additional knowledge or certifications related to construction laws, municipal regulations, or statutory compliance will be an added advantage

Role Summary:

The Liaison Officer will act as a key interface between the Universitys project team and various government and statutory authorities.

The role is responsible for obtaining necessary permissions and approvals from agencies such as Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Fire Department, and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA).

The position requires close coordination with architectural and project teams to ensure smooth project execution, regulatory compliance, and timely statutory clearances.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Government Liaison & Approvals

- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with government officials and statutory departments

- Prepare, submit, and follow up on applications for licenses, permits, and approvals from relevant authorities

- Monitor application status and ensure timely receipt of statutory permissions

- Resolve issues related to land, utilities, right of way (ROW), and local administrative matters

Documentation & Compliance Management

- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all regulatory and statutory documents

- Maintain systematic records of permits, approvals, and correspondence with government bodies

- Track validity and renewal of approvals as per regulatory timelines

Project & Architectural Coordination

- Collaborate closely with architectural and project management teams to align designs with statutory requirements

- Guide the architectural team on local building by-laws, zoning regulations, fire safety norms, and other statutory provisions

- Support project planning by anticipating regulatory requirements at various project stages

Compliance Monitoring & Issue Resolution

- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards

- Address observations, objections, or queries raised by government authorities promptly

- Identify potential regulatory risks and propose mitigation measures to avoid project delays

Stakeholder Communication & Representation

- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external authorities

- Organize, attend, and represent the University in meetings with government officials

- Provide regular updates on project status, approvals, and compliance matters

Reporting & Regulatory Updates

- Prepare and submit periodic status reports on approvals, permissions, and compliance to senior management

- Keep the project team informed about changes in regulations or government policies impacting project execution

Required Skills and Competencies:

- Strong understanding of local authority procedures, building codes, and statutory approval processes

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

- Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management abilities

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with project management tools

- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
