The Legal Head is responsible for leading the organization's legal function, providing strategic legal advice to senior management, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing all legal risks. This role oversees contracts, corporate governance, litigation, intellectual property, labor law, and regulatory matters to protect and advance the organization's interests.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement the organization's legal strategy in alignment with business goals.

- Provide expert legal counsel to the Board, CEO, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives, risk exposure, and business decisions.

- Lead and manage the legal team, setting objectives and overseeing performance.

2. Compliance & Governance

- Ensure company compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance requirements.

- Draft and review company policies to align with regulatory updates.

- Manage relationships with regulators, authorities, and external counsel.

3. Contract Management

- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements (e.g., vendor, customer, partnership, and M&A agreements).

- Establish standardized contract templates and processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risks.

4. Dispute Resolution & Litigation

- Oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.

- Coordinate with external law firms and monitor progress of legal cases.

- Advise on strategy for legal claims and settlements.

5. Corporate & Secretarial Matters

- Oversee corporate structuring, board meetings, minutes, and statutory filings.

- Ensure timely compliance with company law and corporate secretarial standards.

6. Risk Management

- Identify and mitigate potential legal risks across business operations.

- Develop internal controls and processes for proactive legal risk management.

7. Intellectual Property & Employment Law

- Manage protection of intellectual property, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.

- Advise HR on employment law, disciplinary actions, and workplace policies.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

- LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) is mandatory; LL.M. preferred.

- Experience: 9-12+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Key Skills:

- Strong understanding of corporate, commercial, labor, and regulatory laws.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

- Strategic thinker with sound judgment and business acumen.

- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
