Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
- Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance for the various funds and related investment structures.
- Collect and review investment level activity from companies for quarterly and year-end reporting, including Schedule K-1, Schedule K-1 Equivalents, Form 1099s, Form 1042s, etc.
- Review and coordinate tax compliance for corporations, including income tax provisions and Form 1120 filings.
- Track investor-level data and assist with withholding tax calculations and FATCA/CRS documentation where applicable.
- Monitor non-U.S. portfolio company activity to ensure U.S. tax reporting needs and ensure compliance across all entities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with deal and fund accounting teams to evaluate tax implications of acquisitions, dispositions, financings, UP-C, and other transactions.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, third party consultants, and internal legal and finance teams to support ongoing compliance.
Team Development & Knowledge Sharing:
- Review and monitor the work prepared by Firm's COE third-party consultant group based in Gurgaon, India and Bangalore, India.
- Train, manage, and mentor newcomers and junior team members within the BX India tax function.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of standardized tax processes and documentation within the BX India team.
- Collaborate with the BX Tax Operations Team to provide training and share best practices.
Strategic Initiatives:
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize tax planning and identify opportunities for tax savings.
- Identify areas for process, systems, and reporting improvements to enhance the effectiveness of tax compliance programs.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Lead and participate in global projects, interacting with cross-functional teams across the organization.
- Perform other tax-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have:
Experience & Technical Knowledge:
- Overall 12-17 years of experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in private equity tax compliance, preferably within a private equity or real estate investment firm; Big 4 experience is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of private equity fund structures and LP sensitivities to UBTI, ECI, FIRPTA, and CAI.
- Experience with corporate-blocker tax compliance and 163(j) business interest expense calculations.
- Experience managing tax compliance deliverables through external service providers.
Skills:
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets and tax workpapers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate and partner with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Highly effective communicator with exceptional attention to detail and documentation standards.
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- CPA, JD, MST, or local equivalent preferred.
