Team Size : 8-12 members
Compensation:
CTC: 1 Cr+ + House + Car with Driver
Role Purpose:
To lead the end-to-end contract lifecycle for large-scale EPC, BOT, Mining, and Infrastructure projects. The role will own contract strategy, evaluation, commercial negotiations, bidding support, risk mitigation, and profitability protection across domestic and international contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Contract Evaluation & Structuring
- Review, draft, and vet high-value contracts, including EPC, BOOT/BOT, PPP, FIDIC, JV, Subcontract, Supply, Service, and Mining Lease agreements.
- Assess legal, commercial, tax, and operational risks during bid and pre-bid stages.
- Define contracting strategy, risk allocation, and claims avoidance frameworks for each project.
- Ensure compliance with the Indian Contract Act, Mines Act, Electricity Act, FEMA, and international contracting norms.
2. Commercial Negotiation & Finalization
- Lead commercial negotiations with clients, contractors, JV partners, and government bodies.
- Finalize all terms and conditions, including price, payment terms, LD, warranties, EOT, price escalation, forex, and indemnities.
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering through contract terms.
- Interface with Legal, Finance, Tax, and Project teams to close contracts.
3. Bidding & Business Development Support
- Lead contract review for new bids, RFPs, and tenders in India and abroad.
- Develop win strategies with the Business Development team based on contractual risk-reward analysis.
- Prepare deviations, qualifications, and commercial clarifications for bids.
- Support post-award contract handover to project execution teams.
4. Claims, Dispute & Stakeholder Management
- Manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution through arbitration, mediation, or litigation support.
- Liaise with senior management, lenders, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Build SOPs and contract governance frameworks for the group.
5. Team Leadership
- Build and mentor a team of Contracts, Commercial, and Claims professionals.
- Standardize contract templates, checklists, and approval matrices across business units.
- Train business teams on contracting risks and best practices.
Key Requirements:
Experience:
- 18-25 years of experience in Contract Management.
- Minimum 8 years in a leadership role.
Sector Exposure:
- Must have handled large Infrastructure, Mining, and EPC projects.
- Relevant sectors include Roads, Power, Steel, Cement, Ports, and Mines.
Project Exposure:
- India and international project exposure preferred.
- Must have closed contracts worth 500 Cr+.
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of FIDIC, Indian and international contract laws, arbitration, taxation, forex, and insurance.
Skills:
- Sharp commercial acumen.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented approach.
- Ability to make board-level presentations.
- Strong stakeholder management capability.
Education:
BE / BTech + LLB / LLM preferred.
MBA or certifications in Contracts & Claims will be an added advantage.
The ideal candidate should be a stable, presentable, and reliable senior leader with high integrity. They should have the ability to work under pressure, manage CXO-level stakeholders, and travel extensively across India and internationally.
