Senior Transformation Manager - Insurance Operations & Business Transformation

Location - Mumbai

Experience:

12 - 15+ years of experience in Insurance, Consulting, Shared Services, Business Transformation, Operational Excellence, or Change Management, with at least 5 years leading large-scale transformation programs.

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Transformation Manager to drive strategic transformation initiatives across the insurance value chain, including underwriting, policy administration, claims, client servicing, broking operations, and regulatory processes. The role will be responsible for delivering business transformation, operational excellence, digital enablement, automation, and process optimization initiatives that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, risk management, and business outcomes.

The incumbent will partner with business leaders, technology teams, and stakeholders to define transformation roadmaps, implement target operating models, and drive sustainable change across the organization. This role requires deep insurance domain expertise combined with strong program management, stakeholder management, and change leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Transformation Strategy & Delivery:

- Lead enterprise-wide transformation initiatives aligned with business and operational goals.

- Develop and execute transformation roadmaps across insurance operations and support functions.

- Identify process improvement opportunities using Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, and Design Thinking methodologies.

- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, and customer experience.

- Establish transformation governance, KPIs, and benefit realization frameworks.

Insurance Operations Transformation:

Lead modernization initiatives across:

1. Underwriting Operations

2. Policy Administration

3. Claims Management

4. Client/Broker Servicing

5. Risk & Compliance Operations

6. Premium Processing & Accounting

- Optimize end-to-end insurance workflows and operating models.

- Support regulatory and compliance-driven transformation programs.

- Drive process standardization, automation, and scalability across operations.

Digital & Technology Transformation:

- Partner with technology teams to implement digital transformation initiatives.

- Drive adoption of automation, workflow solutions, AI-enabled processes, and analytics-driven decision-making.

- Support implementation of insurance platforms and operational technology solutions.

- Facilitate business requirement gathering and ensure alignment between business and technology objectives.

Program & Project Management:

- Manage complex transformation programs from business case development through implementation.

- Define project scope, milestones, risks, budgets, and resource requirements.

- Provide regular updates to executive leadership and steering committees.

- Monitor delivery effectiveness through performance dashboards and transformation metrics.

Stakeholder Management:

- Partner with senior business leaders, operations teams, technology teams, and external vendors.

- Influence decision-making and facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholders.

- Build strong relationships with executive sponsors and operational leaders.

- Drive cross-functional collaboration to achieve transformation objectives.

Change Management & Capability Building:

- Lead organizational change initiatives associated with transformation programs.

- Develop communication, training, and adoption strategies.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

- Coach team members and business leaders on transformation best practices.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Insurance, Finance, Engineering, or related field.

- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

Experience:

- 12 - 15+ years of overall experience.

- Strong experience in Insurance, Reinsurance, Insurance Broking, Financial Services, or Consulting environments.

- Proven track record leading large-scale transformation programs.

- Experience managing cross-functional and global stakeholders.

- Prior exposure to insurance operations, claims, underwriting, policy servicing, or broking operations preferred.
