The ideal candidate will be someone who is personally responsible for API spend, supplier negotiations, contracts, cost savings, alternate-source development and commercial allocation decisions rather than primarily managing purchase orders, procurement operations or indirect procurement.

Key Responsibilities:

- Personally lead price negotiations, commercial contracts, annual negotiations and supplier allocations with API manufacturers.

- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to deliver sustainable, realised cost savings.

- Own procurement financial metrics including Budget, Standard Cost, Purchase Price Variance (PPV), realised savings and cost avoidance.

- Develop and commercialise alternate API sources to improve cost competitiveness, supply continuity and risk mitigation.

- Work closely with Quality, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Manufacturing and Supply Chain for supplier qualification and commercialisation.

- Evaluate API suppliers from commercial, technical, quality, regulatory and supply-risk perspectives.

- Manage API sourcing from Indian manufacturers supplying regulated markets.

- Participate in supplier audits, qualification and development activities.

- Work with regulatory teams on relevant API documentation including CEP, ASMF, US Type II DMF, as applicable.

- Lead negotiations around pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead time, capacity allocation and contractual commitments.

- Build long-term strategic relationships with key API suppliers while maintaining strong commercial discipline.

- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation, supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing and supply-chain resilience.
