Job Summary
We are seeking a senior-level Contracting & Planning professional to lead and manage contracts, planning, scheduling, and commercial control functions for a large-scale medical college / institutional construction project. The role requires strong expertise in EPC project execution, contract administration, planning & monitoring, and coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Contracts & Commercial Management
- Lead end-to-end contract administration, including drafting, reviewing, and managing EPC, subcontractor, and vendor agreements.
- Interpret contract conditions, scope of work, BOQs, and technical specifications to ensure contractual compliance.
- Manage claims, variations, change orders, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with legal, consultants, and clients on contractual matters.
- Ensure risk identification, mitigation, and documentation related to contracts.
Planning & Project Controls
- Develop and manage master project schedules, baseline programs, and detailed execution plans using Primavera P6 / MS Project.
- Monitor project progress against planned schedules and identify delays or deviations.
- Prepare catch-up and recovery schedules to mitigate delays.
- Track key project milestones and critical path activities.
- Generate periodic planning reports, dashboards, and progress updates for management and clients.
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support billing, certification, and payment processes.
- Coordinate with finance and procurement teams to control project costs.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with project execution, design, procurement, QA/QC, and safety teams.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and statutory authorities for approvals and reporting.
- Participate in progress review meetings and provide strategic inputs to senior management.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor planning, contracts, and commercial team members at the site.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for planning and contracts.
- Ensure knowledge sharing and skill development within the team.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in contracts management, planning, and project controls
- Hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
- In-depth understanding of EPC contracts, FIDIC/Indian contract practices
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work under tight timelines on large, complex projects
Preferred Experience
- Experience in institutional, healthcare, medical college, or large public infrastructure projects
- Prior leadership role in EPC or large construction organizations
- Exposure to government or public-sector funded projects is an advantage
