Mode of Work: On-site (5 days/week) Role Overview The Legal Manager will be responsible for driving strategic and operational excellence across the litigation and contract management functions. This role demands deep legal expertise, strong stakeholder engagement, and the ability to mitigate risk while enabling business growth. The incumbent will serve as a key advisor to internal teams and external counsel, ensuring compliance, consistency, and efficiency in legal processes. Qualifications & Experience - LL.B or LL.M from a reputed institution; additional certifications in contract law or dispute resolution preferred. - 12-15 years of experience in corporate legal roles, with proven expertise in litigation and contract management. - Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills. - Experience in managing external counsel and cross-functional teams. - Familiarity with legal tech tools and contract management platforms. Key Responsibilities Litigation Management - Oversee all litigation matters across jurisdictions, including civil, commercial, labor, and regulatory cases. - Liaise with external legal counsel, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership for case strategy, documentation, and resolution. - Maintain a centralized litigation tracker and ensure timely updates, risk assessments, and escalations. - Review pleadings, affidavits, and other legal documents for accuracy and strategic alignment. - Ensure timely responses to legal notices, summons, and regulatory queries. Contract Lifecycle Management - Lead end-to-end contract lifecycle processes-drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing agreements. - Develop and maintain standardized templates, clause libraries, and approval workflows. - Ensure contracts are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with organizational policies. - Collaborate with business units to understand operational needs and translate them into contract terms. - Monitor contract compliance, renewals, expiries, and obligations through a robust tracking system. Risk & Compliance - Identify legal risks and recommend mitigation strategies across litigation and contractual engagements. - Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal compliance frameworks. - Support internal audits and regulatory inspections with relevant documentation and legal inputs. Team Leadership & Governance - Mentor and manage a team of legal professionals and contract specialists. - Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and legal tech adoption. - Promote a culture of ethical conduct, legal awareness, and continuous learning.
