Role Overview: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports law, entertainment law, contract negotiation, intellectual property, commercial structuring and regulatory compliance. This role involves providing legal guidance to various internal stakeholders and supporting the organization in navigating the complex legal landscape of the sports and entertainment industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to sponsorships, licensing, talent endorsement agreements, youth sports programs, and other commercial arrangements.
- Intellectual Property: Advise on IP management and protection, including copyrights, trademarks, branding, and personality/publicity rights to safeguard the company's assets.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations, including those governing intellectual property, sports commercial rights, content/digital platforms, information technology, and policies/regulations prescribed by relevant sports bodies.
- Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on emerging legal and commercial trends in the sports and entertainment sectors and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Advisory Support: Act as a legal advisor to internal teams, including sales, marketing, business development, and HR.
- Dispute Resolution: Assist in managing disputes and litigation, collaborating with external counsel when necessary.
- Policy Development: Contribute to developing and implementing internal policies and best practices related to legal matters.

- Strong domain knowledge of sports, entertainment, intellectual property, and contract law
- Excellent command of legal language and drafting
- High comfort level reading and analysing large, voluminous documents
- Proven ability to manage a high volume of contracts and multiple matters simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Preferred Specialization / Experience:
- Hands-on experience with media rights agreements, sponsorship deals, and talent/athlete endorsement agreements in the sports industry
- In-depth knowledge of digital media and emerging technologies in sports and entertainment
- Strong practical experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, particularly sponsorship agreements, licensing and merchandising agreements, and talent/athlete endorsement agreements
- Exposure to sports-specific regulations and commercial frameworks, publicity and personality rights of athletes/celebrities, youth sports programs, or digital media & technology-related legal issues
- Familiarity with emerging legal, regulatory, and commercial trends in the sports and entertainment sector
Qualifications Required:
Essential Qualifications:
- LL.B. (3 year or 5 year integrated program) from a recognized university
- 7 to 10 years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal practice
- Prior in-house legal experience, preferably in sports, media, entertainment, or a large corporate group
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
- LL.M. in Sports Law, Entertainment & Media Law, Intellectual Property Law, or Commercial Law
