Senior Manager Learning & Development
Span of Control: Plan L&D Roadmap and simultaneously own the execution - diagnose a Learning Need, design Content to Facilitating Sessions, manage Implementation and evaluate Impact.
Qualification: MBA (HR) from a Tier I institute.
Reporting to: Executive Director - Learning & Development.
Post Qualification Experience: Overall, 8-10 years HR, with at least 4 years exclusively in Learning & Development CoE.
Location: Lower Parel, Mumbai.
The Role:
We are looking for an accomplished and highly driven Learning & Development professional to join the Firm as Senior Manager Learning & Development.
The role requires a strong combination of Learning Design, Programme Management, Facilitation and Stakeholder Engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with Partners, Business Leaders, HR and other internal teams to identify Capability-Building priorities and translate them into relevant, practical and high-quality learning interventions.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can think strategically while taking end-to-end ownership of executionfrom diagnosing a learning need and designing content to facilitating sessions, managing implementation and evaluating impact.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Learning Needs and Programme Design:
- Partner with business leaders, partners, HRBPs and other stakeholders to identify individual, team and organisational capability needs.
- Analyse performance feedback, business priorities and talent data to distinguish genuine learning needs from broader performance or organisational issues.
- Translate identified needs into structured learning journeys, workshops and development initiatives for professionals at different career stages.
- Apply sound instructional-design and adult-learning principles to create relevant, practical and engaging learning experiences.
- Design and develop high-quality presentations, facilitator guides, participant materials, toolkits, case studies, simulations and other learning resources.
- Adapt external frameworks and content to suit the context, culture and requirements of a professional-services firm.
2. Facilitation and Learning Delivery:
- Independently facilitate behavioural skills programmes in areas such as communication, feedback, time/ people management, collaboration and personal effectiveness.
- Deliver sessions with confidence and credibility to varied audiences, including lawyers and allied professionals.
- Support internal subject-matter experts and leaders in structuring and delivering effective learning sessions.
3. Programme management and implementation:
- Take end-to-end ownership of learning initiatives - from conceptualisation and stakeholder alignment to launch, delivery, follow-through and evaluation.
- Manage multiple programmes simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality, responsiveness and attention to detail.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams, external facilitators and vendors to ensure seamless programme delivery.
- Track programme progress, participation, feedback, learning application and other agreed measures of effectiveness.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build trusted relationships with partners, senior leaders, HR colleagues and professionals across the Firm.
- Understand stakeholder expectations, ask the right diagnostic questions and constructively influence decisions relating to learning and development.
- Present ideas and recommendations clearly, confidently and persuasively.
- Work collaboratively across functions and offices while remaining accountable for agreed outcomes.
Candidate Profile:
1. Education And Prior Experience:
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources, Organisational Behaviour or a related discipline from a leading business school or institution.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in Instructional Design, Facilitation, Behavioural Training, Coaching or Psychometric Tools would be an advantage.
- Relevant experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development or Organisational Development.
- Meaningful L&D experience within a professional-services environmentsuch as a Law Firm, Consulting Firm, Big 4, Financial Services organisation or other knowledge-led enterprisewould be good to have.
2. Skills and Capabilities:
- Strong instructional-design and content-development capability.
- Confident and engaging facilitation skills.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Strong stakeholder-management and influencing capability.
- Sound business understanding and an appreciation of the expectations and working environment of professional-services firms.
- High degree of ownership, initiative and execution discipline.
- Strong planning, project-management and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and other content-development tools; familiarity with learning management systems and digital learning platforms would be useful.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, high-performing team.
