Senior Manager/Deputy General Manager - Legal - Retail

Key Deliverables:

- Risk Mitigation: Proactively safeguard company interest, identifying/prioritizing/addressing potential legal risks and regulatory issues.

- Legal Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement Legal SOPs, policies, and governance frameworks.

- Contract Management: Drafting, vetting, renewal, and negotiation of domestic and international agreements including export-import, franchise, retail, and e-commerce.

- E-commerce & Retail focus: Compliance with Consumer Protection Act, IT Act, Legal Metrology Act, and DPDP Act.

- Litigation & Dispute Management: End-to-end management of litigations and coordination with external counsels.

- Labour & Employment: Advisory on employment laws, disciplinary frameworks, and employee disputes.

- Property & Commercial Legal Matters: Lease/license agreements and due diligence for property acquisitions.

- Cross-border & Trade Compliance: Advisory on international trade laws, FEMA compliance, and SEZ-related matters.

- The role will primarily focus on contract drafting and negotiations, labour & employment matters, and limited litigation.

- With the upcoming retail expansion, the scope will also include handling consumer disputes, leave & license agreements, endorsement agreements, and contractor-related matters.

- Trademark and registration work is currently managed by an external law firm; the incumbent will oversee and coordinate with them.

- Experience in contract management and retail & e-comm business focus is preferred.

Preferred Background:

- Experience in a B2B setup, e-commerce, and/or retail industry.

- Prior experience working with a law firm is preferred.

- 18 Saturdays off annually; otherwise, it follows a 6-day work week.
