Role Summary: Architect of the Global Payment Highway
The Senior Manager of Banking Alliances plays a pivotal role in expanding the reach of the payment infrastructure. You will be the primary link between the company and major financial institutions, driving the adoption of cross-border, UPI, and PA-CB (Payment Aggregator Cross-Border) solutions. Your goal is to turn banks into distribution channels, ensuring that the companys products are deeply integrated into the banks own corporate customer journeys.
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Strategy & Deal Closure
- Strategic Alliances: Identify and establish high-impact alliances with public and private sector banks, graduating them from simple "referral" arrangements to white-labelled or VAS (Value Added Service) programs.
- Commercial Negotiation: Negotiate and finalize commercial terms, SLAs, and subvention agreements that drive revenue for both the bank and the platform.
- RFP/Proposal Leadership: Lead the preparation of complex business cases, partnership decks, and responses to RFPs from large financial institutions.
Product & Profitability Management
- Pricing & Profitability Charter: Own the profitability charter for all PG products, including Cards, UPI, and NACH, ensuring the best base rates and mark-up structures.
- Cross-Border Focus: Deepen the product adoption for inward and outward remittance, leveraging Foreign Exchange and liquidity provider relationships.
- AOP Alignment: Build the "Annual Operating Plan" (AOP) in coordination with banking and technology partners to ensure key business metrics are met.
Relationship Lifecycle Management
- Multi-Level Engagement: Build and maintain deep relationships with key influencers within bank product, business, and technology teams.
- Merchant Success Coordination: Partner with bank relationship managers to co-acquire large enterprise merchants and ensure seamless onboarding into the ecosystem.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years in banking, fintech, or strategic partnerships within the payments domain.
- Domain Knowledge: Expert understanding of money movement, API banking, and the evolving regulatory landscape for cross-border payments.
- Consultative Flair: Strong ability to understand a bank's business problems and propose digital transformation solutions using technology.
