Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned legal professional to join our Mumbai office as a Senior Manager or Assistant General Manager (Legal).

In this capacity, you will serve as a pivotal legal advisor, focusing primarily on non-litigation matters, complex contract lifecycle management, and strategic project development.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, project management, and senior leadership, to ensure that all commercial agreements align with the company's risk appetite and business objectives.

Your work will directly impact the organization's ability to execute large-scale infrastructure projects by providing robust legal frameworks that mitigate risk and facilitate seamless operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

- Draft, review, and negotiate high-value EPC contracts to ensure favorable terms and comprehensive risk allocation for the organization.

- Lead the end-to-end review of project development agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal governance policies.

- Manage the lifecycle of procurement contracts, providing legal oversight to optimize vendor relationships and supply chain security.

- Oversee O&M contracts to safeguard the long-term operational efficiency and legal interests of our project assets.

- Implement effective legal project management practices to streamline contract turnaround times and enhance departmental productivity.

- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition and HR teams to provide legal guidance on internal policies and employment-related documentation as needed.

- Provide proactive legal counsel to internal stakeholders, translating complex legal risks into actionable business insights to support informed decision-making.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in drafting and reviewing diverse commercial contracts, with a specific focus on the infrastructure and energy sectors.

- Proven ability to manage complex legal projects independently, balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-site environment in Mumbai.

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders and senior management.

- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and commercial problem-solving in non-litigation environments.

- A degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.) from a reputed institution, complemented by a track record of handling high-stakes corporate legal matters.

- High level of adaptability and professional maturity, capable of navigating evolving business requirements while maintaining strict adherence to legal compliance.
