Our client, a global consulting firm, is working with a leading developmental finance institution in India on the creation of a new entity to advance its financial inclusion mission. As part of this critical initiative, they are seeking a seasoned Legal Expert with strong corporate law credentials and experience in incorporation and registration processes for new entities. In this high-impact advisory role, the expert will help the client identify, evaluate, and implement the most suitable incorporation structures, ensuring a compliant and strategically sound setup. The expert's contributions will be instrumental in enabling the institution's long-term success and impact. Key responsibilities: - Advise on legal structures and incorporation processes for establishing a new entity in India - Evaluate multiple structuring options and articulate their pros, cons, and strategic value - Provide guidance on corporate governance frameworks tailored to developmental finance institutions - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements relevant to Indian PSUs or similar entities - Participate in ad hoc calls with the client team and potentially attend 1-2 in-person sessions in Mumbai - Serve as a legal sounding board during key phases of the entity formation process Your background: - 10+ years of experience in corporate law with a focus on entity incorporation and registration in India - Experience advising on structuring options for PSU or PSU-adjacent entities (preferred, not mandatory) - Qualified lawyer with a track record in corporate law firms or relevant in-house legal teams - Strong understanding of the Indian regulatory and corporate governance landscape - Excellent advisory and stakeholder communication skills Other information: The role will be for an initial contract duration of 3-4 months The expert is expected to support the client on a part-time basis, committing 5-10 hours per month remotely through ad hoc calls, with the possibility of 1-2 in-person days at the client site in Mumbai
